The poor and the marginalised are left out from the mainstream banking due to distance, bureaucratic procedures and a system which is not familiar to them making them hesitant to approach the mainstream banks. To address the concerns of the poor and in line with the policies of the Reserve Bank of India to provide kiosk banking through Business correspondent model , AID has ushered in financial inclusion from the year 2011 onwards. In PalamuDivison of Jharkhand state currently it is operating 250 Kiosk bank outlets and would be adding on 150 more kiosks in the region. It is working in tandem with the banks and district administrations to make the Pradhan Manthri Jan DhanYojana successful. Under this scheme alone it has now opened 1 lakh bank accounts and overall it has opened 3,10,000 accounts.
