State level workshop on e governance
The State level workshop on e-governance took place on

23rd June 2007 in Ranchi under the presence of the Chief Minister, Shri Madu Koda and the Joint Secretary, Ministry of IT, New Delhi, Mr. Chandrashekar. Other dignitaries present were the Chief Secretary, Mr. A K Chugh, Principal Secretary Department of IT Mr. R.S. Sharma and all the Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners of the State. Mr. Chandrashekhar stressed on the strengthening of services related to land records while the CM spoke on the need for providing services of health and education to the poor and needy. Mr. R.S Sharma provided the updates on the progress made on e-governance and assured the participants that 33 e-governance services would be ready for all the CSC centres by March 2008.
Divisional Level Workshop at Daltonganj
E governance workshop was conducted at Daltonganj to highlight and explore the

C DAC Workshop on Agriculture
AID conducted workshop along with Birsa Agricultural University (BAU) and CDAC (Centre for Development of Advanced Computing) on “Identification of Information Needs in Agriculture’ for information dissemination to make proper use of the

technological inputs among the rural farmers. The workshop was conducted at BAU campus on 30th September 2007 and was addressed by the chief guest Mr. Muktiar Singh-Development Commissioner and the VC, BAU Mr. N N Singh

AID at Udhog Mela in Ranchi
A stall by the Department of IT was exhibited at the Udhog Mela organised by the

Government of Jharkhand from15th November 2007. AID along with other SCAs and ILFS participated in the event with the live presentation of aggarbatti making by the SHG women from Garhwa District. The mobile van of AID was also pressed into service for information dissemination to the public. An overwhelming response was seen at the mela with numerous queries on the CSC and e governance services available at the village level.

CDAC Workshops to acquaint VLEs in computer

India Development Gateway (InDG), initiated by the Department of Information Technology, GOI through CDAC has partnered with AID to catalyze the use

of ICT for knowledge sharing among the VLEs and other community-based organizations in the Districts of Garhwa and Latehar. So far C DAC had conducted training to more than 100 selected VLEs in Palamau Division.

Workshop on developing marketing strategies 
Two days workshop was conducted on 30th November 2007at Electronic Niketan,

Ministry of Information and Technology, New Delhi by IL& FS. The objective of the workshop was to propagate the business concepts among the VLEs through different marketing tie-ups made by the organization. The aim was also to develop the strategy of marketing various products through CSC centers. Numbers of business houses like WIPRO, Reliance,

TATA and institutions like SBI, ICICI and SCAs were present in this occasion. The IT Secretary, Mr. Chandrashekar graced the occasion of the workshop

Krishi Mela
Krishi Mela was organized by the District Administration on 15th March at Barahmsthan Lagma, in Meral Block with the coordination of AID and other NGOs. The Chief Guest of the program was the Deputy Commissioner of Garhwa, Mr. Rahul Kumar Purwar and

the guest of Honour was Mr. Girinath Singh (MLA) and Mr. Ghuran Ram (M.P).

Also present during this occasion were the DDC, Social Welfare Officer, Civil Surgeon, RCH, BDOs and the MO, Dr.Niru Johri and host of NGOs and CBOs.

About 200 Sahaiyas along with 400 handicapped and 20 eligible couples were present during this event.
The purpose of organizing this event was to sensitize people towards different services and schemes of the government. The main focus was to promote the eligible couple for small family and have not more than two children. The focus was also to sensitise people on female infanticide taking place in the society.

A motivational program for the Handicapped was organized in the mela.

The work done by AID in Garhwa District was showcased by putting up the stall and disseminating information and display of Pragya Kendra ( CSC) to generate awareness on the concept of the e governance services in the district

Role play by the cultural team of Community Radio of AID on the issue of save girl child   (Beti Bachhao) received overwhelming response from the people. 

The DDC awarded 20 eligible couples who had only two children (identified by AID). The District RCH office also announced an award of Rs.7000/- for those couple whose first child was female and a sum of Rs. 5000/- for those whose first child was male among the identified couples. The handicapped were given the certificates on this occasion. AID was awarded by the DC for the displaying and disseminating the concept of CSC and e governance among the people.

Active role was played by the Deputy Commissioner of Garhwa, Mr.Rahul Kumar Purwar along with the BDO, Garhwa Mr. Subhash Singh.

Janta Darbar was organized at the pragya Kendra of Meral Block in Garhwa Dist where DC, AC, MLA, BDOs, CS, and other district officers were present. They distributed pension, schlorship, kanyadan yojna, & cycles among people. And ration among scheduled Tribes.
